Flying to Staten Island NY next week to sea trial a 2011 4500 Sovran. Looking forward to learning from all the Tiara Yacht owners on the forum. Anything my wife and I should be immediately aware of before we see the boat and potentially buy it? Any thoughts, warnings, or encouragement is greatly appreciated! :-)

Most of the early Volvo bulletins (sea strainers, pulleys etc) were probably handled prior to that vintage, however be sure that all service is up to date etc on the motors... Also, make sure that the surveyor pays attention to possible moisture around the molded platform as that has been seen on some of the Sovrans.
Thanks for the quick response Max. Definitely will have the survey look at the platform. Although this boat has a hydraulic lift, I see where the molded platform starts on the aft of the boat. I have the engine room pics from the dealer, sea strainers are clear top/new kind, oil filters indicate services done NOV 16 before winter lay up. Excited to see it pulled today...nice looking boat in the pics while they were power washing it.

Well back from NY, sea trial went very well. Relatively small punch list of items to fix: Lenco Auto Trim Tabs not functioning correctly, Raymarine Auto Pilot malfunction, Zincs/Annodes need to be replaced, beginning of a small crack in a hose connected to thru hull, and the one that concerns me the most, the IPS drive transmission oil pressures at idle speed through 1750 rpm had a 20-30 psi difference between P/S drives. That needs to be diagnosed and looked at. So we will see what the final survey report says, but if that all gets addressed then we will have a new 4500 Sovran!

My wife and I will be taking her on the great loop in a few years. Love the boat. We have one item that we are still trying to fix...the Lenco Auto Glide Trim tab system is not working. This was found on the survey and sea trial, was told it was fixed prior to shipping, and upon receipt of the boat in MN, same faults/issues were found. Working with Staten Island Yacht Sales to remedy the situation. So hopefully all works out very soon. Other than that one item, everything else is in good shape. Enjoy the videos.

Bob, beautiful Sovran, exciting day! Is she on the Mississippi river?
I just bought a 2003 4400 Sovran with the Cat diesels and hoping to take her down from MA to NC at the end of next week with my brother.
Might see you on the Loop sometime!

Yes the boat is on the Mississippi River. We have been river boaters our entire lives, so the loop with be exciting to do. Congrats on the 4300 Sovran. Boy oh Boy these 4300 & 4500 Sovran are tough to find for sale, hopefully that means that they are exceptional boats and no one wants to part with them. Safe travels next week, hope you have fair skies and calm seas.
