I am investigating getting a dingy for my 36 open to go use when we travel. I am looking at a 11 ft Zodiac hard bottom with a 15 hp motor . approx 240 lbs overall . I would like anyone's input on what kind of setup I should put on the swim platform so I can easily use and store the boat for travel . lET ME KNOW THANK YOU. ANY IDEAS ON SIZE WOULD BE APPRECIATED AS WELL
Take a look at this thread: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] where I described adding Nautley davits to my 3500 Open to carry a 10.5' hard bottom Zodiac with a 9.9HP outboard.
I'm not sure how similar your swim platform is to mine, but the Nautley davits would probably work. I really like mine.
I have the Nautley / dingyramp XL and would definitely recommend it. I started with a 10.5 Zodiac / 15hp Mercury and now carry a 11' AB with a 15. I run my pull line through a pulley attached to the dingy with one end of the line tied off at the transom grab bar. With this setup I can pull it up by myself from the cockpit with no problems at all. Platform is only 30" deep and the dingy takes it all up but I'm ok with that. My next Tiara will have a bigger platform I suspect.
