fuel senders
#1
I recently purchased a 1999 31 open. The fuel gauges didn't work when I got it. I took the senders out and found the foam floats were jammed. Got them freed up and had them working but it didn't last long. Does anyone know where I can get replacements? Do I have to buy the whole assembly or can I just get the floats?

I do not believe they sell just the floats. You are likely going to have to replace the entire sending units. If your boat is gas, please be extremely careful when removing the sending units and manipulating them. One opening in a fuel tank and a spark can make for a bomb!

Most marine supply stores (West Marine, Boaters World, ect...) can source the sending units. If you can look at the senders and get a manufacturer and part number that would be best. Tiara may also have them or your local Tiara dealer.

Good luck and be careful!

I ordered a replacement sender directly from the tank manufacturer. I gave them all the info off the tank and they sent me a exact replacement.
