I have a 02 41, open which is equipped with a 35 # delta anchor. We boat in the Cheasapeak bay and are not having good luck holding the bottom. I would like the replace but don’t know which kind or brand to go to. Every manufacturer clams their is the best. We won’t be anchoring overnig. My rodeo chain. Need help

That's not an easy question to answer. No anchor will hold if it is not deployed properly. What type of bottom are you anchoring in. Sand, mud, grass, etc.? And do you have a good length of chain ? I always use 10 feet and the more the better. Depending on your locations, you might need to carry two different types. Wind and current will also determine your choice. And how much line are you letting out for the depth of water ? 7 to 1 is a good starting number but the more the better. I always start backing down before releasing the anchor to prevent fouling the line or chain on the anchor. And NEVER throw the anchor overboard. That's a sure way to foul it. Always lower it slowly
