I had the same question on my 1996 31 open. Is it the same for the 1996 year?
I'm pretty sure it is for your boat as well. The easy way to confirm is to place a volt meter on your house battery and start the port motor and increase rpms to above 1500. You should see the volt meter increase in voltage, most likely to 14.4v. If you have a parallel switch connecting your house and starting battery, make sure the two batteries are not connected thru the switch during the test.
