Hello, I have a new to me 1994 3100 Open. I pulled it out and noticed this notched area of the keel that looks like a large transducer. The normal transducer/fairing housing is located near it but I'm curious to see if anyone knows what the heck this is?

I have a (new to me) 94 3100 open. Prior owner created a drain plug in that vicinity - something he had done to other boats he owned - because he says that is where the water pooled. Was not easy to see because it was forward of the forward bilge pump. The plug from the underside did not look like your photo, but wondering if someone did something similar on your vessel? I have since removed and glassed over his plug (and easily get water out with a shop vac during winter lay-up).

How about a keel cooler for a generator? Can you access the inside of the hull in that area to see if there are hoses for a cooler or wires for a transducer?
