This is my first post and hello everyone. I am thinking about purchasing a 2005 3200 open with Volvo diesels. The boat looks in great shape and the previous owner is cleaning the Volvo coolers. Any suggestions on what to look for in the boat? I am now to Tiara and have purchased Mainships, Regals, and SeaRays.
Thanks in advance for the comments and suggestions.
As with most boats a good surveyor, ideally one who knows these boats well. Not unusual to have moisture intrusion into the coring and deck especially around engine air intakes, thru hulls and windlass. I’d also get a Volvo marine tech on the boat to look at maintenance records, oil sample history, ECM data, etc. Diesels can be incredibly expensive if not maintained, propped and run properly.
The 32 is an awsome boat and the Volvo engines are a great option. Hope it all works out and you are able to experience being a Tiara owner .
Buying a very similar model with D6’s as well as we speak. A good surveyor is key as well mechanic and oil analysis. A little money upfront saves a ton of money in the long run. Also the advice on sounding the hill core is key as well.
