Oil pressure alarm going off
#1
I have twin gas crusader 454 XL engines.
While running I had the oil pressure light and alarm come on.

I checked the oil and topped off the oil.

Ran it again, after about 20 minutes running 2800, alarm went off again.

Checked oil. Level is fine

Low rpm’s - engine runs fine…. No alarm.

New sending unit last year (from diagnostics of another issue)

Erving up in the slip, gauge jumped from 50 to 60.

Any thoughts on next steps?

Thank you

Typically on those engines there is a separate switch for the OP alarm/warning light. It is sometimes mounted to a tee along side the oil pressure sender. If you are showing good oil pressure and simultaneously getting a low OP alarm that is usually the culprit.

Closing out the thread
At the left rear bottom of the engine There is the low OP alarm sensor with one pole connection.

The wire connection was corroded causing a false read

Thanks jclark003 for the lead.

Another forum success..
