Just a quick question for the forum...does anyone know if the Onan Diesel Generators are installed and configured to have a dry exhaust on the Sovran? When we were sea trialing our Sovran, the genes exhaust was dry, and when I asked the broker, he said the water cooling discharge was under the water line. This is just the first time in my boating experience where the genes does not have a wet exhaust. Thanks

That doesn't sound right. Was the exhaust really loud? How long did you run the gen for? If there isn't water coming out the exhaust and it's supposed to the gen will shut down within 15 mins. Best bet is to go into the bilge and look at the gen exhaust.
Thanks Ben. That is what I thought as well, the GENSET ran for 30 min or so, no alarms, exhaust was quiet, so I didn't think anything more of it. When we get the boat delivered, I am planning on pulling apart the impeller, and calling the local Onan genset rep. Thanks again.
Got the answer from Brian at Tiara today. There are two exhaust thru hulls (dry) found on the STBD side above the water line and (wet) found on the stern under the swim platform but just above the water line (it has a rubber scupper flap on it). So...that is what I found out today.
