New boat for me...3100 Open. I was cleaning the shower sump out and found a bilge pump just forward of the shower box. Is this the "Mid Bilge" pump? It has a float switch next to it which was floating in the water next to the pump. I can't see the pump as it is mounted under the floor just forward of the steps. I've read some other posts about the steps having to be removed (ugh). The pump operates if I lift the float switch. Back to my original question, is this the Mid Bilge Pump?

I have a 3100 Open as well. My "Mid-Bilge" is the one in the engine compartment. The one under the floor is the "Forward Bilge" the switch for it on mine is under the stairs on the DC distribution panel.

That is definitely the FORWARD bilge pump.
I learned a lesson on my 98 31 open. On mine the pump had an automatic function that turned it on or ran a quick cycle every 10 minutes unless the circuit breaker was turned off. I learned this first night sleeping on the boat, "what's that noise at 2am?".
Nonetheless, i shut it off at the circuit breaker as there was never any water in the forward bilge.
Well after a heavy rain and probably an off shore run with a forward porthole open, some water did end up there. Didn't find it for a while! Not enough to cause any damage, but enough for the pump to activate.
Lesson, check bilges often and if you shut off a automatic pump at least re-activate if not of the boat for a while.
In this case i should have replaced the pump!
