I have a 2006 tiara 3600 Sovran with a hardtop. It has 2 hatchs in it. The one over the helm has some cracks behind the hatch. They are just pencil thin at the surface. The reason for my concern is, I noticed some water coming in on the beverage center. We determined that water was coming thru these cracks and dripping on the beverage center.
the question is, how best to repair this. Where I live I really dont have a 'yard', but we do have some guys that if you tell them what to do, it usually works out okay.
As they are really thin, I am thinking about taking a Dremel with a thin cutting wheel, and making a narrow grind of the crack. Then taking some marine tex and filling the hole, and then painting the surface with Kiwi grip. Thoughts?
I assume the cracks came from running the boat with the hatches up, and the wind putting pressure on the hatch and forcing it back.
