Just purchased an '06 38 Open great shape and low hours. Do I need to be concerned about the possible corrosion in the after coolers? Should I have the local Cummins shop replace them? Thanks.

I own a 2003 38 Open w/450 Cummin's..... Removed and cleaned the aftercoolers in 2011 (engines had ~670 hrs).... Recommend that they be done and if your somewhat handy not a big deal...Iv'e attached several pictures of what mine looked like when opened.....I've also attached a web site that explains more regarding the cleaning of the aftercoolers....

I plan on doing mine again this winter (engines now have approx. 1100 hrs on them)...... M2C
