Helm AC reads 113-116
#1
One of my helm AC units is displaying 113-116, as high as 121 when not in use. When I set the temp, the setting reads correctly then reverts back to a number in the 100’s. I’ve tried resetting, to no avail. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance,

Brett

This same thing happened to one of my cabin chillers (though not to those extreme numbers) and it ended up being the temp sensor that slide upstream too close to the compressor. Therefore, the system always thinks it’s hotter than it is, keeps running, and goes long/hard enough where it can’t cool the air but doesn’t quite overheat and shutdown. Hope this at least gives you one thing to check.

It’s strange, because it’s cooling perfectly.

I had the exact same problem and it was in fact the remote temperature sensor. I was cleaning under the seats and accidentally sprayed some cleaner into it and almost immediately the readout showed temperatures well into the 100’s. Easy check is to simply unplug the remote sensor in which case the internal sensor inside the thermostat takes over.
