Hi Bob,
I have a 2900 Coronet that collects water in a forward compartment below the V berth. The only thing left to do is pull and rebed the rub rail. I'll have to wait until I haul out next year to do it, but this seems to be the only way water can get in. See if you can find any evidence of water running down the sides into the bilge during a rain event.
