Tiara Open 1993 3100 Open head question
#1
Question about head seacock location. Head isn't bringing water in (new in 2015 and little use since then). Mechanic on boat yesterday and we're guessing we may have a closed seacock but our hatch won't open all the way (at least not w/o 2 people) until we replace starboard batteries when we return in 2 weeks. When I look at schematics in owner's manual I don't see a seacock for the head, which doesn't make sense. Can someone tell me where it's located and if it's accessible from just opening the center engine room hatch?

And, yes, I know this sounds like a stupid question, but our mechanic was trying not to waste time looking for something that wasn't there. So, would just like to know if we should call him back before we return home and replace the batteries.

Thanks

A different boat, but my Tiara's head runs off of the boats fresh water system, so there is no seacock. You need to be connected to shore water, or have water in your fresh water tank and have the pump turned on.

And if you have a Vaccuflush, I think most if not all of them work on the fresh water system.

Interesting. The original manual shows a thru hull for the head but I wonder if the new head required some replumbing as well (it's a vacu flush). We had issues with the water pump that the mechanic did fix but now I wonder if he fixed that before or after looking at the head.

Seems like we'll just wait until we get back to boat and the detailed invoice for the head to get this resolved.

Appreciate your response

Vacuflush runs off the fresh water system. Saltwater is not really good for it as it will create problems with the duck bills. I have had 2 Tiaras, 41 open and my current 50 Open, both used fresh water.

I have a 1990 3100 open, the suction seacook came between the two principal motor seacook. The discharge seacook it is at the port side, very close to the side stand from the port side. I belive you need to follow the hose to see where they go. probably you have snail inside the hose and that compromise the suction. Hope i can help you.

I have a 1988 3300 open and the seacock for the head is on the STBD side.  Between the STBD engine and the hull, forward of the waste tank. A little tricky to get to.
