Tiara Open Tiara 41 Open Water in forward bilge
#1
I have a new to me this year 1999 41 Open. I get intermittent water in the forward bilge. Have read the forums and tried everything.  I have used dye to confirm it is not coming from shower sump.  I have checked all lines and do not see any leaks.  It usually ends up to be 1-2 gallons and is random. I have checked it with dock water hooked up and with both or neither fresh water pump. Sometimes it is there and other times there is nothing.

I also get some water in mid bilge after running and am working on locating that source (typically never more than a few gallons and it never kicks on the mid bilge pump). Are the mid and forward bilges connected in any way?  Is it possible that the water is coming from the mid bilge?   Any suggestions appreciated.

Good morning esf,

I have a 94' 4300 open, the A/C condensing unit is under the island bed in the forward stateroom. If your unit is located in the same spot as ours, it could be that your condenser drain line is compromised and draining straight down and accumulating in the forward bilge?

Thanks. I have checked both AC drains and neither are the issue.   Agree that could be one of the sources but not in this case.

I have found that in my boat there is a tank in the bilge that collects water from the wet sink in the helm area and a few other areas yet to be determined. The pump system stopped working and the tank (estimated at 20 gallons) was full so this is where the water in the mid bilge was coming from. does anyone know what the pump on the top of the tank is? It is not working but does discharge directly out of the bilge through the hull.

I had a 41 open that had that tank. Mine had 2 pumps. One on top of the tank and one further down the line on the port side. They were on seperate breakers. The one on the tank worked off a float switch in the tank. The other would turn on with the first and somehow would run a little.lonver after the first one shut off.

They were both Sealand pumps.
