I know that may sound naïve, but what do I need to do? Change the spark plugs? What else? I know there is a computer program I can hook up, but there aren't any local, does anyone know how I could obtain one?
What else should I do? TIA
I have 8.1 Crusaders and they started to run rough, stall etc at about 200 hours. Changed all the original Denso plugs to Champions and now they run like new. If there is a problem you can get a code reader for about $75 that will plug in and pin point the failure.
Fuel filters, oil and filter changes, new zincs, raw water impellers, that's about it. At 11 years you should be looking at new elbows before you have a major problem.
Both my 2001 engines run perfectly smooth and trouble free.

thanks for the answers, which leads to more questions. If I could find one of those $75 code reader, I'd buy it in a heart beat, last I looked they were like $1500, any hints on what and where to buy?
right now I am around 300 hrs and haven't noticed any problems with the elbows but will check
I assume the Champions you put in were marine plugs, and idea on the model #?
thanks for the help!!
