Vessel Info: 2008 Tiara 3500 Sovran IPS Diesel
Inside the cabin of the 3500 Sovran series (2008; i think same as year 2007-2010) there are speakers in the cabin ceiling.
I've never been able to get any sound to come from them. What, if anything, drives these speakers?
On my vessel the only options are the helm Clarion stereo or the midcabin 'theatre' system which on mine is a Bose stereo/DVD/CD.
Anyone have this vessel and/or know if these speakers are functional?
I have the 2008 4300 Sovran with the Bose DVD system. I believe they are connected to the Bose for surround sound. The other two cube speakers are located above the cabinets in the salon. Not sure if that holds true for the 35. Please post an update if you find out.
Hi there, we just bought a Tiara 3600 model 2007, similar problem: I hear the DVD sound but no image on the TV (I went through all components) - any tip?

On my 2008 Sovran, the Bose DVD player is somewhat obsolete and will not play most current DVDs. This means no sound as well. I purchased an inexpensive Sony DVD player only, hooked it up through the remote RCA jacks to the left of the Bose system, and it works great. Of course the TVs are not HD or wide screen so you may have the framing situation.

when we purchased our 07 3900 last year, the previous owner had tied all the cockpit speakers to the Denon (same as your Bose) system in the Salon. Only a few speakers in the cockpit worked (I think the ones under aft bench and the base speaker in hard top worked, the ones overhead in hardtop didn't). Also, the ones under bench buzzing. I think people have tried to join them for sound in both areas with one playlist/Sirius subscription vs. two, but they weren't designed to do that. We ended up 1) decoupling the Denon and Clarion system to reduce the buzz 2) changing out the Clarion system in the cockpit because our AV guy said it was obsolete and when they were tied together it was too much amp for the speakers and it damaged them. The new Clarion system is also bluetooth enabled with new Sirius access, so it's much better, but that was 70% of the solution...we are now changing the speakers to repair damage done. Kept Denon system down below for regular (not BlueRay) movies. hope that helps.
