2005 Sovran with Panasonic microwave. It will run for 27 seconds and then shut down. Worked fine for the first few days on the boat, and 27 seconds is the limit no matter what
setting we use. We have shut off the circuit breaker to try and reset, but no help.
We are ready to buy a new one, but we can not get it out of the little cubby hole. It sits on some type of composite black board.
Has anyone had any luck removing the micro? Is there a trick to it?
Just a guess but look under the bottom of the cabinet it sits in for screws holding the composite black board down.
Trying to find a micro that fits an opening is a challenge. I always find a local repairman for those special boat sizes. It's quicker and less expensive.
Right you are Captain George. Two screws way up and under the counter top. They screw into the platform that the oven sits on, then the oven was screwed into the platform.
The usual failure in a microwave is the high voltage diode. A $10 part on eBay and a $100 repair in a local shop if you can't do it your self.
It may be faster and less expensive to try a local repair guy. Capt. George
Thanks for quick reply George. Mwave now 12 years old and new ones only around $100, so I think I will just replace. Assuming this has happened to other Sovran 3600 owners, it would be great if someone who replaced recently could give me a model number that fits. Tom
