Does anyone know how to obtain the software needed to run on a laptop and what cables are needed to perform an engine diagnostic?

I purchased a plug in reader from Jerry's Marine in Ft Lauderdale for my 8.1's. 1-800-432-2231
As I recall it was about $60.00.
I have an account there. You may have to go to a Crusader dealer.
Only a dealer will have the laptop version and it's pretty pricey. ,

can you share the make and model of your plug in reader? I'd love to have something, but the computer version was like $1600, which for my needs seems expensive, but for $60 I'd be all over it!!
TIA

Google "Crusader Code Reader" and press images to see what it looks like.
It's made by Rinda Technologies. Called CODE MATE.
Looks like the price has gone up.

Thanks for the info, but from what I read, it is like $600, or am I looking at something wrong?? If I could find a $60, as I said, I'd be all over it.
