I am trying to measure oil at transmission. The color and dipstick make it difficult (impossible) to see. The engines are 454XLI Crusaders, the Transmission is series 5000A Down Angle, #2001-000-004 (2.1) Borg Warner. 
i follow the procedure to run trans for 2 minutes at 1500 RPM and quickly check levels (which I have difficulty seeing)
I evacuated and took out 2 Quarts. I don't know how much oil cooler return oil came back to transmission?
Velvet Drive specs service manual #24 (10/99) call for 3 quarts ATF.
So, considering the run to the trans cooler, does anyone have any idea what the quantity should be?

COME ON GUYS ~ I know many of you change your fluids. Maybe you all can see much better than me...? But, I can't determine the fluid level on my dipstick it either wipes the side or someway obscures the level.
I'm lost....!
