Hello everyone - stumped on a fresh water pressure issue on my '06 3200. I have only a dribble coming out of both galley sink and head sink. Head shower has prefect pressure. Galley sink will provide proper pressure ONLY if I click the button on end of faucet that changes to shower spray pattern. I cant figure out why I only have a dribble coming out of faucets all other times.

My 2nd freshwater pump (larger of two) also continues to run and build pressure. It never seems to build then stop, just keeps going. The 1st (smaller) water pump will also run but kicks on far less frequently to build pressure. 
 
Any ideas?

Steps taken so far:
1) replaced one of two freshwater pumps
2) cleaned fresh water strainer cup, verified tight
3) replaced the whale water plumbing tubes and connectors around the new pump
4) emptied fresh water tank, refilled until water coming out of vent multiple times 
5) thought it might be clogged vent so ran vacuum backwards and put on vent to see if I could force air back down vent tube, didnt help 
6) tried turning off hot water heater valves, didnt help 
7) connected city water inlet at transom, didnt help 



totally stumped. any help appreciated

I had a similar problem and found it to be the "O" ring seal on the fresh water filter that is between the water tank and the 2 pumps.... Was getting air mixed with water. The pumps were getting air along with water preventing the system from fully purging the system of air.

replaced the strainer cup entirely this weekend and still no luck.

does anyone know if the fresh water tank vent that goes through the side of hull has the ability to be opened? screwed open from the outside of the boat?

If you connected the shore water and still do not have pressure at your sinks, you have by-passed the water pump and that half of the system....so have you replaced the screens at the sink and head faucets? That screen would also be by-passed in spray mode at the kitchen sink. Maybe you picked up some sentiment that got caught in those filters.

To check if you have a leak somewhere, you can get a blow out plug for winterizing and use a small air compressor set at 20 psi and see if the pressure goes down. For venting issues, just crack open the fill cap and test.

thanks for the help - this ended up being caused by the screens at the end of faucets. Wish I would have realized that from the start!

Check the aerators on the faucets. Simple and easy and usually full of debris.

I have a 4 chambered pump that had similar characteristics which I believe was caused by a diaphragm failure in 1 or 2 of the chambers...it would move water but the pressure was noticeably lower and would not shut off. I opted for a new pump which fixed the issue. Next I’ll order a rebuild kit for the pump head and have a spare on the shelf. Probably not necessary to have a spare but seems like an interesting project that should be easy enough.

Screens on the aerators regularly plug on my boat also, probably need to find a way to flush out the tank.

I continue to have a sediment issue in my water tank. I purchased a 3/4 in Rusco sediment trapper from the Clean Water Store- very knowledgeable folks. It spins out the sediment using the water velocity when the pump runs. It attaches to the discharge side of the pump, not suction side. No problems since installation. No more screen fouling. It also is equipped with a easy dump valve so no disassembly for cleaning required. Check it out.
