I recently bought a 96’ 3100 open. Right now it has 2 “ divers dream” zinc plates on the transom. I have been told this is over zinced. This is how these boats come from the manufacturer I am told. The boat stays in a slip in a marina in Long Beach California. Does any one have any recommendations or information regarding how much zinc to use to protect my boat .? Thanks

I've have the same boat/year on the East Coast. It has always had the two "factory" zincs and I have never had any notion or indication that it was "over Zinced". My 2 cents would be to stick with the two.

Ask a mechanic to look at the running gear & look into level of corrosion (may have to spend $ to get boat hauled out). I worked with boatzincs.com & they were incredibly helpful on sizing & material. Give them a shout. Good luck!
