Looking for some thoughts regarding the Helm console on my recently purchased 2006 3200 Open: How do I swing the helm console open? My previous Tiara had two handles on which to grab hold and yank aft. This boat hasn't any grab handles and I can't see where to grip it to swing it open, any ideas?

My Raymarine Ray 240 VHF won't power up and I need to gain acces to the helm are to check connections and see if there are any fuses in line.

I have a 2007 3000 open.
Not sure if they are the same, but all I had to do was, reach up over the compass and put both hands around front of console and pull up and back. (fiberglass was rounded at front and easy to get a grip on)
Make sure your seat is all the was back for extra room.

Thank you for the reply. Here's what I discovered: the helm console on my boat is bolted down!
I have two 10-32 screws located where the friction mounts were on my previous Tiara, (a 2001), and I figured I'd unscrews the nuts and see what happened. Well that did it and my console sung back nice and smoothly. I found my electronics fuse panel and, sure enough, my 10 amp VHF fuse was blown. Replaced fuse and tested OK.
Now I think I'll modify the screw down console and install nice wing nuts for ease of removal.

The next thing you need to do is replace the Raymarine radio. They have been nothing but trouble for my customers. The first thing that goes is the mic cable. Then the radios blow fuses and the output transistors fail. Please install an Icom or Standard Horizon. Have your tech connect it to your GPS if it does not have one built in. Then get an MMSI number from Boat/US and install it in the radio. It's FREE. A VHF radio and a quality antenna are safety items that need to always work. I have some plain Jane units that are 20 years old and still working. Capt. George
