I turned my Bose 321 system on in the cabin after the winter, and got nothing (2006 Sovran 3600).  So I immediately assumed it was the head unit in the cabinet.  so I figured out how to remove that.  (basically you cant just pull it out, even if you remove it from its base.  Slide it back, drop it down through the hole, and twist and turn and it will come out ) I bought a new (old) head unit that was exactly the same.  I did not want to run new wires etc.  When I plugged that it, again nothing.  So out came the book.  The sub woofer under the seat has 110 power coming into it , and then a cord snakes around and powers the head unit( the sub woofer actually steps the power down to 17v I believe) .  I replaced the sub woofer, and there you go, power and everything works.  The most expensive part it seems was shipping the sub woofer!!

I found all of this legacy Bose stuff at [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register].  I talked to the guy, and he did what he says, so I am good with him.  I don't get anything for this, just trying to pass on some information to everyone.  It seems to me to be easier to keep everything the same as opposed to tearing everything out, and trying to put it back together.
