Has anyone replaced the handles of the Oceanair skylight shade/screen ( both have snapped off). Do the new handles just snapped into groove of shade and screen? How do you remove broken part of handles which are still in the grooves of the shade and screen?

Funny, I just did this on my boat. I removed two pieces that were broken off with a pair of needle nose vise grips and I was able to snap the new one in without taking the whole thing apart ,it took some pressure and pushing hard but I was able to do it. Be sure you line it up in the exact spot it’s supposed to go as there are some detents that are located there.I ordered the parts from ocean air.

When mine broke off it left me with two small pieces which were left in the guide rail. I grabbed my needle nose vice grips and with a slight twisting motion was able to get them both out . When installing the new one you may want to have a helper push down on the top of the screen as you are pushing it up . Make sure you place the new one dead center and on the little tips ( I call them dentents) this way it does not move to the left or right . Take a look at your other shades on the boat and see what I mean .
Also if you are not comfortable doin this you can take the entire assembly down and slide the broken pieces out of the guide rail and insert the new ones.
I believe ahoy captain had a link to how this is done . I just took a chance and was able to get them installed. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
