Does anybody know what gear ration on the velvet drives were in 1981? I have a 1981 with 454 crusaders thats not getting the right rpms. I suspect the previous owner changed the transmissions putting in the wrong gear ratio's I also believe he tried to compensate with changing the pitch on the props. I pulled the props and I  have 18x19 and I am only turning 3500 rpms at 24mph. Something is obviously wrong. So, does anyone know what the right tranny and prop size is for the 1981 3100 w T454's?

If you contact Tiara customer support and provide your HIN, they should be able to tell you what it left the factory with.

I did but they could only give me the general specs for that boat. They could not give me detailed info with my VIN. I was hopeing they would have the build sheet but, no luck.
