Hello</p>

I have a 1999 Tiara Open. The marina I keep the boat in installed a ground fault system to protect against accidental injury. Problem is we trip the breaker as soon as we open up the breaker on the boat. I have someone working in this but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and where they found the problem lies? Understand that all boat have many different electrical systems at play put wondering if there is a common denominator with Tiara's.</p>

That should not happen if you flip the breaker with equipment off. Then turn on equipment one by one and see if you can find the problem. An AC or fridge compress so is the most likely cause. By the way, more sophisticated GFI protection systems have an adjustable trip point.

Had similar trouble. As soon as I turned on the AC power breaker, the GFCI receptacle would trip. Started to unload one circuit at a time at the bus bars. Once I unloaded the inverter, everything was fine.

Thanks all, we are tripping the breaker with everything turned off on the panel and under the steps just as soon as we flip on the breaker on the ac main panel. Will print out the above and show my electrician.
