Looking to install an auto pilot in my 88 3100 Open, have an Apex 19 for the FF. Shop is recommending a Furuno or Lowrance since they supposedly work better with Humminbird products.
Anybody got any input or preferences and an estimated cost?
I can't comment on working with the Hummingbird, but if I were having an AP installed, it would be a Simrad. Probably their AP44 model. Furuno would be a second option...
Spoke to shop potentially doing the install, they prefer Garmin, but Furuno and Simrad (I think) are supposedly made by the same entity as Humminbird and suggested going with one of those versus a Garmin, thanks for the reply
