[Navatech]

This seems pretty simple, but I have 6 portholes/windows on my 2000 Tiara 3100 Open.  5 of the 6 windows will stay in the raised position when I open them.  One is a problem & flops down.  I am not sure if the acorn nuts on the problem window are original - they look a little different, but they are tight.  Suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

There are two ways to keep such portholes open: a spring or a friction device. Check and replace as necessary.

I have taken them apart, & cannot find a spring or friction device.  Can you provide more detail?  Thanks.

The friction device might look like a plastic “bearing”. The friction might also be induced by putting the hinge under tension. You say you have taken them apart, were they identical other than the acorn nuts? If so, try using the acorn nuts of another porthole on this porthole. If that solves the problem then you have your answer.
