Hi. I have a 2000 3100 Open with a 7.0 gas Westerbeke generator. I cannot keep it running and my mechanic tells me the issue is the choke solenoid keeps sticking because of corrosion. I've replaced 2. It ran fine last weekend and now it turns over and will not start. Has anyone has the same issue and any solution or ideas would be appreciated.

Always look where you last did something.
Is the choke stuck on or off or even working ? Try operating it by hand.
I’m dealing with a similar issue with mine, after getting it to keep running by putting a new high temp switch on know it is having a problem starting. I took off the spark arrester and watched the choke as I tried to start the motor. The choke moved to about 25% closed and would not start, held the choke closed by hand and fired right up. Took the choke solenoid off and cleaned it up, bench tested and worked great, reinstalled and still only got about 25% choke, so I ordered a new one and it should be in this week. Maybe you are having a similar issue.
