It's been mentioned here using VDO sending units with VDO gauges.  How important is this?  For example should VDO oil pressure sensors be used with VDO gauges?  In the Crusader parts manual both sensors are listed for the oil pressure gauges.

need to make sure the senders impedance range matches that of the gauge, whether you use VDO or some other manufacturer. Keep in mind some VDO senders are floating ground normally open or normally closed depending on the gauge type and some of their gauges expect impedance ranges not normally used by other/US manufacturers. So in some cases you may not have a choice but to use their sender.
