Wiring Question on 29 Coronet
#1
I am looking at a 2001 Tiara Coronet. In examining the boat it was discovered that the 12 volt panel is wired in what to me is a very strange way. There is a switch labelled "Cabin Lights" on that panel and to that switch are wired the following items
Cabin lights
macerator pump
fresh water pressure pump
refrigerator
electric toilet
stereo
dashboard electronics
Each of the items also has a fuse on a panel at the helm with the exception of the stereo and electronics which I assume must have an inline fuse.
This is much different than anything I have seen on other boats I have owned where each of the above items would be on a separate switch and the stereo and electronics might typically be wired to an accessory switch at the helm.
If anyone owns one of these boats, I would appreciate knowing how yours is wired and otherwise would like to hear from anybody as to whether there is a good reason that I am missing as to why the setup would be wired in this fashion.
Thanks.

As an owner of 2 Tiara's and their quality/workmanship it doesn't sound like it came from the factory that way. M2c

Thanks, Reel Magic. I haven't owned a Tiara before, but have had 3 Pursuits and none of those were wired like that.

I have a '97 & I think mine is wired similarly. I'll try to remember to check & report back.

Mine is a 2001. The main panel below the steps has two switches that power the two fuse panels at the helm. There is a separate switch that powers the rocker switches at the helm.

I have pictures and could forward to an email if you are interested or still looking at the boat.

Good luck!

The Tiara 2900 Coronet is wired differently than any other Tiara ever built. There is no 110V panel even though the boat does have a shore power cord. This is because the Coronets were never offered with a Generator, Air-Conditioning or a Water Heater. 110V power is limited to Battery Charger Only.

The 12V Panel below the cabin steps is very limited, although, I can't believe all of that equipment was wired to a single breaker, unless that is a high amp breaker with each individual item having a separate breaker downline. There are several pop out breakers under the wheel at the helm.

I haven't looked at the electrical setup on a Coronet in a while, but I remember it was completely different than all other Tiaras.

Good Luck!
