Has anyone ever painted there vinyl seats ? I am looking to do a bit of touch up on the top of the seats where it rounds over and seems to get sun damage . Wondering what brand vinyl paint and color.
Hate to burst your bubble, Donald, but I don't see that working. I can't imagine a paint that you'd ever be able to get an adhesion that is worth the effort. I'm afraid recovering if your best option. Are you sure it's damage and not dirty? I had seats that I thought for sure had to be recovered. I hit the spots with a steam cleaner and all the "damage" literally wiped away.

I actually painted all of my cushions in the cuddy this Spring, and they turned out great. I will be painting my bolsters this week as soon as the paint arrives. SEM Vinyl paint is what I use. Plan on at least 4 or 5 light coats. The paint odor will last for at least a week if the cushions are kept in the cuddy.
Good luck

SEM sells a Prep spray, I use it. 1 can will last a life time of cushions. That's the closest to a primer that I know of. Too many White choices for the bolsters. I'm either going with Carver White or Ranger White. Trying to match the present back to back seats.

This is a wild discussion. I have never heard of someone painting a cushioned seat (stiffer vinyl, sure, but the abuse our seats take?!). Does anyone have some pics of a finished product?

There are many projects on YouTube that show the process in action, I will update you on mine when I finish. Cheers!
