ALEXANDRIA, Va., November 23, 2010 –- The nation’s largest boat owners group wants every American to enjoy some festive holiday cheer on the waterfront with the offering of a new online Holiday Boat Parade Finder at [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]. The website lets anyone easily seek out local lighted boat parades by state or specific date, and includes website links and contact information. There’s also an easy way to add a listing for a boat parade that’s not already included.
“Watching a slow parade of boats — each one decorated and lit up brighter than a Christmas tree — is spectacular, and something the kids won’t forget,” said BoatUS spokesman Scott Croft. “Many holiday boat parades also tie into local festivals, so these events aren’t just for the boater in the family.”Croft also mentioned that Santa Claus often appears at boat parades because, “the North Pole is frozen all year long and these parades are his only chance to get out on the water.” Croft also refused to speculate on whether Santa prefers powerboating or sailing. “Representing over half a million boaters who own all types of recreational vessels, I’ll kindly decline comment, but I encourage you to go to your local boat parade to find out,” he added. For more, go to [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register].

Looking to put a windlass on my 29'. Anyone have an opinion on Lewmar or Maxwell?

Which models? Looking at V700 and RC6

Apparently the windlass is not prewired........ Any views on how difficult to put the cabling in place?

For the anchor chain...what about 150' of chain instead of chain/rope combination?

Any views on that?

may name is Josh and I am a charter captain on Lake Michigan out of Racine, Wi. I fish out of a 2000 Tiara 29 Open with twin 7.4L Crusader MPIs. When I'm not fishing, I am a full time firefighter/paramedic for the Village of Caledonia, Wi. This past summer was my first year on a Tiara and quickly fell in love with the boat. I can easily see why Tiara owners love their boats so much!
